Biography
Gavin Grift has worked extensively as a classroom teacher, assistant principal and educational consultant. Gavin has led a team of teachers to develop an online Curriculum Planning Process that is being used by primary and secondary schools throughout Victoria, Australia. He has worked with schools, teachers and students in Australia and the United Kingdom in a variety of roles including: teacher, researcher, consultant and facilitator for change and improvement.
Gavin is currently the Director of Professional Learning for Hawker Brownlow Professional Learning Solutions, an Accredited Trainer of Cognitive CoachingSM through the Center for Cognitive Coaching and is a Certified Training Associate for Professional Learning Communities in Australia. He is also coauthor of the book Assessing the Whole Child (2007 Hawker Brownlow Education; Melbourne, VIC) with Jane Satchwell.
As a Training Associate for PLCs Gavin is currently working closely with five schools as they embark on becoming internationally accredited Professional Learning CommunityTM schools.
Gavin has presented at conferences in Sweden (Internationally Thinking Conference), USA (National Middle Schools Association) and in Australia (6th Annual Hawker Brownlow Teaching and Learning Conference).
